Our Beliefs

The purpose of this organization shall be to glorify God through worship, preaching and teaching God’s Word, the Holy Bible, and conducting a New Testament church according to God’s Word. God shall be glorified through the salvation of the lost and through the edification of the believer. In order to accomplish these inclusive goals, this church shall maintain a place of public worship where the Gospel of Jesus Christ shall be preached and the whole counsel of God taught. This church shall administer the two ordinances (baptism and communion) of the New Testament. This church shall abide by its articles of faith, its covenant, and its constitution. This church shall do its utmost to maintain a good testimony for Christ and extend its Christian influence into its community and shall endeavor to provide an effective missionary program throughout the world.

                                                                              STATEMENT OF FAITH

Section 1. The Holy Scriptures

We believe that the Bible (consisting of the Old and New Testaments), as originally written was verbally inspired by God and the product of Spirit controlled men. It therefore has truth without error for its content and is the complete revelation of God’s will for mankind. It is the final authority on all subjects addressed. (II Timothy 3:15 - 17; II Peter 1:19 - 21)

 Section 2. The Trinity

We believe that there is only one living and true God, creator and sustainer of all things. In the unity of the Godhead there are three distinct persons (the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) and they are equal in every divine perfection. (Matthew 3:13 - 17; I Corinthians 8:6; I John 5:7; Colossians 1:16 - 17)

 Section 3. God the Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, sovereignty, wisdom, knowledge, power and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men; that he hears and answers prayers; and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Matthew 7:7 - 12; John 5:17 - 26; Ephesians 1:3 - 6: I Timothy 1:17; 6:16)

Section 4. God the Son, Jesus Christ

We believe in the Virgin Birth and absolute deity of God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ; that He has precisely the same nature, attributes and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We also believe in His sinless life, His propitiation for our sins, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His intercession on behalf of believers, and His personal, visible return from heaven. He is fully God and fully man. (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:18 - 23; John 1:1 - 2; I John 5:20; Luke 1:26 - 38; I Thessalonians 4:13 - 18)

Section 5: God the Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person of the Trinity, equal with the Father and the Son; that He convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment; bears witness to the truth; is the agent of the new birth; and that he seals, sanctifies, guides, and helps believers; indwelling every true Child of God. (II Corinthians 13: 14; John 14: 16 - 17; Romans 8: 14 - 27)

Section 6: Satan/Unbelievers/Hell

We believe in the distinct personality of Satan; that he is the unholy ruler of this world, author of all powers of darkness and sin; and that he and all unbelievers are destined to an eternal judgment in the Lake of Fire. (Matthew 4:1- 3; Corinthians 4:4; Revelation 20:10)

Section 7: Creation

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth, out of nothing, including all life, "each after its own kind" by direct act in six literal days. (Genesis 1:2; Colossians 1:16 - 17; John 1:3)

Section 8: Salvation by Grace

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ We further believe that this salvation is based on the sovereign grace of God; was purchased by Christ through His blood on the cross; and is received by man through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or ritual.

We believe that all who take Christ as their Saviour are eternally secure in Christ. (Acts 4:12; Romans 3:24 - 25; 5:8; Ephesians 2:8 - 10; John 10:28 - 29; Romans 8:35 - 39)

Section 9: The Church

We believe that the Church universal is a New Testament institution; unknown to the Old Testament prophets; established by Jesus Christ, Who is its sole Head; revealed through the holy Apostles; empowered and perpetuated by the Holy Spirit; Christ’s "body" for service and His "bride" for glory. It began with the New Testament saints and will be consummated at the coming of Christ in the Rapture. We believe that his body expresses itself in local assemblies whose members have been immersed upon a credible confession of faith and have associated themselves for worship, for instruction, for evangelism and for service. (Matt. 16:18; Acts 1:8; 2:1 - 13, 41 - 47; 15:14; Romans 16:26; I Cor. 12:12 - 28; Ephesians 1:22, 23; 3:21; 5:23 - 33; I Thess. 4:13 - 18)

Section 10: The Ordinances

We believe that there are two church ordinances: Baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism is the immersion of a believer in water and is properly called "Believer’s Baptism." It shows forth our faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour. Baptism is a prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. The Lord’s Supper is the commemoration of our Lord’s death until He comes and our continual fellowship with Him. Partaking of the Lord’s Supper should be preceded by careful self-examination and repentance. (Acts 8: 36 - 39; Romans 6: 3 - 5; I Cor. 11: 23 - 32)

Section 11: The Return of Christ

We believe in the bodily, personal, pre-millennial return of Jesus Christ; that He will come before the seven year tribulation period to catch away His church, at which time He will come only in the air. He will come with His church at the close of the tribulation to judge the living nations and to set up His kingdom on earth. (Daniel 9:24; I Thess. 4: 13 - 18; II Thess. 2:1 - 9; Matt. 25: 31 - 46; Rev. 2:7 - 10; Rev. 19: 11 - 21)

Section 12: The Resurrection

We believe in the resurrection of the bodies of the dead; that believers who have died in Christ will be raised at the coming of Jesus for His church, and caught up with transformed living saints to meet the Lord in the air. And that the unsaved dead will be raised at the close of the Millennial Kingdom and stand at the Great White Throne Judgment to receive their eternal damnation in the Lake of Fire. (John 5: 21 - 30; I Thess. 4:16; Rev. 7: 9 - 17; 20: 11 - 15)

Section 13: Missions

We believe that every born again Christian has the responsibility to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with those whom we come in contact, as we are led by the Holy Spirit. Some believers are called of God to share the gospel with unbelievers in other countries. We also believe that local churches have a responsibility to God to support (both financially and prayerfully) local and foreign missionaries. (Matt. 28:19; Mark 16: 15; Luke 24: 47)
